Personal Health Budget Consultancy and Mentoring
To implement and deliver personal health budgets well, professionals need support too.
Personal health budgets are just one of the many ways that the NHS can personalise healthcare and it is so much more than just the money!
For personal health budgets to work effectively, healthcare practitioners need to recognise the knowledge, skills and experience of the individuals and families they are supporting.
Health Your Way can support you and your organisation to make personal health budgets work well in your area.
From 1st October 2014, children and adults who are eligible for or receiving NHS Continuing Healthcare funding will have the ‘right to have’ a personal health budget. This will mean that a personal health budget can only be declined if there are clinical or financial grounds to do so.
Did you know that the National Health Service Commissioning Board and Clinical Commissioning Groups (Responsibilities and Standing Rules) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 sets out Clinical Commissioning Groups legal duties including:
•Duty to consider any request for a personal health budget
•Duty to inform people eligible of their right to have a personal health budget
•Duty to provide information, advice and support in relation to personal health budgets
From April 2015, people with long-term conditions will also be considered for personal heath budgets.
Is your organisation ready?
Have you designed your process for implementing personal health budgets?
Do you know who can provide information and advice to people who wish to access personal health budgets?
Do you feel confident about responding to people positively about personal health budgets?
Health Your Way can support you.
